Timescales
See below - Communication sent to North Muskham Parish Council by Elements Green, the developers of the Great North Road (GNR) Solar Park. The key point has been underlined for your convenience. North Muskham Parish Council is one of the Statutory Consultees.
Great North Road Solar Park Second Phase of Community Consultation
We are writing to you to provide an update on the timescales for our second phase of community consultation for Great North Road (GNR) Solar Park.
As part of the ongoing development of our proposals for the project, we are now looking to launch Phase Two (Statutory) Consultation early next year, rather than in the autumn of this year as previously planned.
The reason for this is to allow additional time to finalise ongoing design considerations related to the project, ensuring these are in place before we proceed with our Phase Two Consultation.
With this shift in timing, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. We will, however, provide an update once we have finalised the timescales for our Phase Two Consultation and information events.
We’re also excited to share that we will be making a series of very positive announcements later this year, and we look forward to sharing these with you in due course.
Please be assured that we remain committed to undertaking a transparent and robust consultation on our proposals. We are grateful for the feedback we received during our first phase of community consultation earlier this year and we are pleased that this has helped to inform severa changes to the proposals.
Statement of Community Consultation (SoCC)
Over the summer, we consulted with Newark and Sherwood District Council, Nottinghamshire County Council and Bassetlaw District Council to invite their views on the approach we intend to take to further community consultation. This will be set out in our Statement of Community Consultation (SoCC) which will be published in advance of the second phase of consultation.
Following the publication of the SoCC, and continuous development of the project proposals, we will then carry out a second phase of community consultation. As detailed above, this is the statutory phase of consultation that is required by the application process for a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP)
This statutory stage of consultation is intended to give you the opportunity to comment on our updated proposals and how they have evolved since the initial consultation. As part of this, we will be publishing the results of our ongoing assessments in a document known as a Preliminary Environmental Information Report (PEIR). This explains the potential effects of GNR Solar Park and our plans for mitigating them.
As detailed above, we now plan to carry out this second phase of consultation early next year. Following this consultation, we will review our proposals in light of feedback received along with the findings from our ongoing assessments so we can finalise and submit our application for development consent to the Planning Inspectorate.
